This was taken Nov 2011, what I thought when I was working with Kato Sensei and what I still think is that a spiral has no appendages. The jo just became part of the spiral that Kato Sensei created.
I had a student that was from the Ukraine. Every time that he was uke it looked like he was waiting in a bread line. Jimmy Friedman taught me to love to fall, I never could see what Kato Sensei showed but I was lucky enough to feel it.
